HISTORY OF CREATION OF BAPTIST ASSOCIATIONS

The Mission Objectives: The Old Ashley Missionary Baptist Association was founded in 1867.

The Old Ashley Missionary Baptist Association was formed to  promote the kingdom of God and the good of the

common cause, there are 4 objectives for the Baptist Association were identified:

  • To Promote fellowship among the churches
  • To affirm commonly held eliefs
  • To provide counsel and assistance to local churches
  • To establish a structure through which churches could operate and their broader ministries such as theological education, publications, and mission work.

       The Old Ashley Missionary Baptist Association is founded upon,

       Matthew 28 which says, "Go ye therefore into all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and 

      the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I 

      am with you alway, even unto the end of the world Amen."

     At one time it supported 93 member churches of Old Ashley Missionary Baptist Association.
